Heraklion - Plakias: take the "New Road" to Chania / Rethymnon, after 80km take the road to Spili (at Spili junction near Rethymnon). After 20km turn right to Plakias, all crossings have signs. The road winds through Kourtaliotiko Gorge, passes Asomatos, leads through Lefkogeia and further on to Plakias. After the fourth gas station turn slightly left and follow the smell of the sea downhill to Plakias.
