Following the road down towards the sea, Koraka can be reached with its wide and sandy beach. Further bays and beaches are located at both sides as well as a few taverns. Depending on the location sunbeds can be rented.

	Slightly further towards the west the beach ends at a rock and a tavern. A small footpath next to the water is leading to another bay, which will be missed by most visitors because of its remoteness. photos: bay | Koraka beach
	The winding road above the hotel also leads to Plakias which can be seen 10km later in eastern direction. Near Plakias' lovely bay there are more touristic possibilities like taverns and restaurants, supermarkets, car rentals, diving schools as well as several touristic bureaus offering excursions, e.g. a guided tour to the palace of Knossos. By boat Preveli can be reached with its palm-studded valley.
	Towards the west of Rodakino there's Frangokastello, its ruin is located next to smooth water. Further towards Sfakia the end of Imbros-gorge can be seen from the road: it is smaller than the well-known Samaria, a walk from the top takes about four hours. Fewer visitors and rather untouched nature is awaiting the connoisseur. Kommitades is the village's name where some sort of "taxi"-service is offered to bring visitors up to the entrance.
